Purchasing directly from a passionate collector is a fundamentally different experience from buying at auction or through a commercial gallery, and often a better one.
No gallery markup
Commercial galleries typically add 40�60% on top of the artist's price to cover overhead, staff, and profit margins. When you buy from a private collector, you pay a fair market price without that layer. The work is offered at what it is genuinely worth, no more, no less.
You know exactly where the work has been
Provenance, the documented history of ownership, matters enormously for art valuation and authenticity. When you buy from a private individual who has owned the work for years, the chain of custody is clear and personal. There is no ambiguity about storage conditions, prior restoration, or past ownership.
Every work in the Kunstlounge collection comes with a Certificate of Authenticity personally signed by Clemens Briels and full documentation of its history.

Access to works no longer available elsewhere
Several works in the Kunstlounge collection come from limited editions that are fully sold out at all galleries worldwide. The secondary market, where private collectors resell to new owners, is the only way to acquire these pieces today. This is particularly true for the Briels screenprints, where the original editions of 175 are long exhausted.
